Accessibility Statement
This statement covers FutureApply's conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, how we test for accessibility, known limitations, and how to reach us with feedback or complaints. Applies to users in the United States and Canada.
Section 1
Our Commitment
FutureApply is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that accessibility is not a feature — it is a baseline requirement for any product that serves the public.
Our goal is to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard across all pages and features of the Services. We actively monitor our platform for accessibility issues, remediate violations as they are identified, and incorporate accessibility considerations into our ongoing development process.
This statement applies to the FutureApply web application and all publicly accessible pages at futureapply.app, including authenticated product surfaces, legal pages, and support resources.
Section 2
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG is organized into three conformance levels: Level A (minimum), Level AA (standard), and Level AAA (enhanced).
Current conformance: Fully conformant — WCAG 2.1 Level AA
FutureApply's web application is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA as of the date of our most recent assessment. Fully conformant means that all assessed pages satisfy all WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria with no known failures.
Our most recent automated and manual assessment was completed in May 2026, covering all 13 pages of the platform including public, authenticated, and legal routes. Zero violations were identified across all tested conformance criteria.
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our compliance standard. This standard is referenced by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and aligns with the accessibility requirements under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as applied to web-based services in the United States.
Section 3
Technical Specifications
Accessibility on FutureApply relies on the following technologies working in combination with your browser and any assistive technologies you use:
- HTML5 semantic structure, including landmark elements such as
main,nav,header, andaside; - WAI-ARIA roles, states, and properties for dynamic and interactive components, including dialogs, live regions, progress indicators, and navigation landmarks;
- CSS for visual presentation, with colour contrast ratios meeting or exceeding the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components;
- JavaScript for enhanced interactivity, with all functionality operable via keyboard without requiring a mouse or pointer device; and
- Radix UI primitives for modal dialogs, dropdowns, and toggle controls, which implement ARIA patterns for focus management, keyboard interaction, and screen reader announcements.
The following browsers and assistive technology combinations have been tested and are known to work with the FutureApply platform:
- Chrome with VoiceOver on macOS;
- Safari with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; and
- Chrome on Android with TalkBack.
Other browser and assistive technology combinations may also work. If you encounter difficulties with a combination not listed above, please contact us using the details in Section 6.
Section 4
Scope of This Statement
This accessibility statement covers the FutureApply web application, including:
- public-facing pages, including the landing page, sign-up and login flows, onboarding, help centre, and legal pages;
- authenticated product surfaces, including job matches, resume management, application tracker, and account settings; and
- modal dialogs, forms, and interactive components used throughout the platform.
This statement does not cover third-party services integrated with FutureApply, including external job board platforms, employer career portals, payment processors, or authentication providers. Those services maintain their own accessibility policies and practices. FutureApply has no control over the accessibility of external employer or job board platforms to which you may be directed during the auto-apply process.
FutureApply's Services are currently available to users in the United States and Canada. This statement is intended to satisfy the accessibility disclosure requirements applicable in those jurisdictions, including the AODA Information and Communications Standard (Ontario) and the accessibility provisions of the ADA (United States).
Section 5
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be areas of the platform where full accessibility has not yet been achieved. Known limitations will be disclosed here as they are identified.
Current known limitations: None
As of our most recent assessment in May 2026, no known failures against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria have been identified across the tested scope of the platform. All automated violations identified through axe-core scanning have been remediated, and keyboard operability of the primary user flows has been confirmed.
We acknowledge that third-party content, employer-generated job descriptions, and external links within the platform may not conform to the same accessibility standards. We cannot control or guarantee the accessibility of content or interfaces provided by third parties.
If you encounter any accessibility barriers not listed here, we encourage you to report them to us using the contact details in Section 6. We will investigate and provide a response within 5 business days.
Section 6
Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of FutureApply. If you experience any barriers that prevent you from using any part of the platform, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve accessibility, please contact us:
- Email: [email protected]
- General support: [email protected]
When contacting us about an accessibility issue, please include as much detail as possible: the URL or page affected, the browser and assistive technology you are using, and a description of the problem. This helps us reproduce and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
We commit to acknowledging accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to providing a substantive response or interim accommodation within 15 business days where technically feasible.
If you require an accessible format of any content on our platform — such as an alternative version of a document or a description of visual content — please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
Section 7
Formal Complaints
We are committed to resolving accessibility concerns directly. If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility feedback, you have the right to escalate your concern through the following channels depending on your jurisdiction.
United States
If you believe that FutureApply has failed to meet its obligations under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Disability Rights Section. Information on how to file an ADA complaint is available at ada.gov.
Canada — Ontario
If you believe that FutureApply has failed to meet its obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), you may file a complaint with the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario. Information on how to file a complaint is available through the Government of Ontario at ontario.ca/page/accessibility-ontario.
Canada — Other Provinces
Other Canadian provinces and territories have their own accessibility legislation or human rights frameworks under which web accessibility complaints may be filed. If you are located outside Ontario, you may contact your provincial human rights commission or accessibility office for information on applicable remedies.
We encourage you to reach out to us directly before pursuing a formal complaint. In most cases we are able to resolve concerns quickly and prefer to do so collaboratively.
Section 8
Assessment Approach
FutureApply assesses the accessibility of the platform using the following approach:
- Automated scanning: We use axe-core (version 4.10) via Playwright to run WCAG 2.1 Level A, Level AA, and best-practice rule sets against all platform routes, including authenticated pages accessed with a test account. Scans are run against the deployed development environment at regular intervals.
- Manual keyboard testing: Core user flows — including sign-up, onboarding, job match browsing, resume management, and settings — are manually tested using keyboard-only navigation to verify that all interactive elements are reachable, operable, and produce visible focus indicators.
- Screen reader testing: Key flows are tested using VoiceOver on macOS with Chrome to verify that dynamic content, error messages, dialog announcements, and navigation landmarks are communicated correctly to assistive technology users.
Accessibility assessments are conducted whenever significant changes are made to the platform interface, and no less than quarterly. This statement was last updated in May 2026 following an assessment that found zero violations across all tested routes.
We intend to engage a third-party accessibility auditor for an independent WCAG 2.1 AA audit as the platform grows. Results and any remediation plans from such audits will be reflected in updates to this statement.
